Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is no stranger to hard work, but his preparation for his epic in-ring return at WrestleMania 40 earlier this year took things to a whole new level. The WWE legend revealed to PEOPLE the sheer intensity of the eight-to-nine-week training camp he endured to be ready for the grandest stage of them all.

“It’s incredibly hard,” The Rock admitted. “The training becomes really extensive, and the training camp becomes extensive. So, I went [to] training camp for WrestleMania, which was about an eight- to nine-week training camp. It’s really fast, and fortunately, I was able to get through it all.”

The Rock’s return to WrestleMania XL was nothing short of iconic, and his dedication to an intense training camp shows why he remains a true legend in and out of the ring.

Whether he’s electrifying the WWE Universe or dominating Hollywood, The Rock proves time and time again that hard work and passion are his ultimate tag team partners
