he upcoming WWE New Year’s Evil special on January 7, 2025, just got a major shake-up. Originally set as a traditional singles match, the NXT Championship bout will now be a high-stakes triple-threat match, with Trick Williams defending his title against Oba Femi and Eddy Thorpe.

The change was announced during the December 24th taped episode of NXT, where fans learned that Eddy Thorpe has been added to the already explosive showdown. Oba Femi earned his shot at the NXT Championship by winning the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline. Meanwhile, Thorpe’s addition stems from his ongoing rivalry with Trick Williams and his demands for another opportunity after a controversial ending in their recent clash.

On the women’s side, Giulia, who won the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge, will challenge Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship during New Year’s Evil, making this event a must-watch for NXT fans.

Set to air as part of NXT weekly programming rather than a standalone premium live event, New Year’s Evil will take place at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles, California, delivering a major spectacle for viewers.
