Curtis Axel Hints at Potential WWE Comeback Following 2022 Departure

Curtis Axel had a successful career in WWE before being released in 2020 due to budget cuts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. He made a brief return in 2022 as a producer but left not long after, leading fans to wonder if he would ever come back to WWE. Interestingly enough, Axel has now stated that his return to WWE is still on the table.

While speaking to Going Ringside, Curtis Axel talked about his run as a producer in WWE a couple of years ago. During the conversation, Axel revealed that returning to the company as a producer is certainly on the table.

The former WWE Superstar expressed interest in the idea, mentioning that he could go back and contribute, particularly in coaching the next generation of talent. Axel finds it rewarding to share his insights and work with others to enhance matches. He also enjoyed being involved in the creative side of wrestling, calling the experience “pretty cool.”

“That’s something that’s still on the table. I could go back there and do that and help out. I really like coaching the next up-and-comers. It’s very rewarding to give my insight to them and have these different ideas that we can collaborate on to make the match even better. I really enjoyed that part and just being a part of the creative side. It was pretty cool.”

Curtis Axel previously shared that WWE couldn’t afford to keep him as a producer in 2022 when he worked in a part-time capacity and this financial limitation led to his abrupt exit from the company.

Since his departure from WWE, Curtis Axel hasn’t been heavily involved in the pro wrestling scene but continues to stay updated on the current product. It remains to be seen whether he’ll return to WWE in the future as a producer or coach. After all, his extensive experience and knowledge could certainly be valuable in helping the new generation of wrestlers.
