Carmella is adjusting to life as a mom but revealed she’s dealing with unexpected challenges after the birth of her son, Dimitri, in November 2023. Speaking to Bayley on Instagram Live, the WWE star gave fans an update on her recovery and how she’s navigating a condition called drop foot, caused by nerve damage sustained during delivery.
“I love being a mom. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done, ever, in my whole entire life,” Carmella shared. “That being said, of course I miss WWE. Of course, I miss everyone. I miss being Carmella. I miss performing. I miss it so much.”
Carmella explained that her condition stems from a nerve issue behind her knee, leading to drop foot—a condition that affects her mobility. “For those that don’t know, I have some nerve damage in my foot from delivering Dimitri. I have what’s called drop foot. It sucks. I wrestled for ten to twelve years, never had an injury, knock on wood, and now I’m doing physical therapy, going to the chiropractor, getting MRIs, and doing all this stuff that I never thought I would be doing, but here we are.”
While the road to recovery is uncertain, Carmella remains hopeful. “Nerves do take a lot of time to heal, but eventually, we’ll get back to it,” she said, leaving fans optimistic about her eventual return to the ring.
Carmella’s update has fans flooding her with love and support as she balances the joys of motherhood with the hurdles of recovery. With her signature resilience and determination, it’s clear the former WWE champ has her sights set on a comeback—but for now, baby Dimitri is the ultimate tag team partner in her corner.
