It’s Wednesday night and you know what that means! The Holiday Bash episode of AEW Dynamite will go down tonight, and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage for the December 18, 2024 episode.

AEW Dynamite Results (12/18/2024):

The show opens up with Excalibur welcoming us and he is joined by Tony Schiavone and “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard. We then get a shot of The Death Riders arriving outside the arena, while Excalibur hypes the Trios Match set to take place later tonight.

We then head to the back, where Renee Paquette is interviewing Orange Cassidy and Jay White. Paquette asks if their focus was on The Death Riders or the title match at Worlds End. White says his focus is on the AEW World Championship, but he knows that he needs to make it to the PPV so he has to rely on Cassidy. White then says he’s not stupid enough to rely on Hangman Page. Page then shows up and says the championship is his.

Excalibur then hypes the Will Ospreay vs. Darby Allin Match. Allin is standing in the backstage area and says it’s showtime. In another part of the backstage area, Ospreay talks about warfare and how he will show that he’s on another level. The Continental Classic leaderboards are then shown.

MJF is then shown walking through the backstage area, while Excalibur says MJF will speak later in the show. Excalibur then hypes the tag team match and says the TBS Championship Match will open the show. Mercedes Moné makes her way down to the ring for the first match of the night and Anna Jay follows.

AEW TBS Championship Match: “The CEO” Mercedes Moné (c) vs. Anna Jay

The match starts off with Moné slapping Jay. Moné then goes for a pin, but Jay kicks out and Moné nails Jay with a shoulder tackle. Jay then delivers some right hands on Moné in the corner, but Moné responds with The Three Amigos on Jay and climbs to the top rope. Moné then looks to hits a splash on Jay, but Jay rolls out of the ring and hits a boot on Moné’s midsection. Jay then follows it up with a neckbreaker and goes for a pin, but Moné kicks out. Moné then hits a backstabber on Jay, then follows it up with a meteora and goes for a pin. Jay then kicks out, but Moné wears her down with a submission. Jay then escapes by sending Moné crashing into the corner, then hits her with a meteora off the middle rope. Jay then hits a Blockbuster on Moné off the middle rope and goes for a pin. Moné then kicks out, but Jay responds with a couple of roundhouse kicks and pulls Moné off the middle rope. Jay then hits Moné with a Gory Bomb and goes for a pin, but Moné grabs the bottom rope to break the fall. Moné then locks in the Moné Statement on Jay before she follows it up with a meteora in the corner and the Moné Maker for the win.

After the match, Kris Statlander is shown watching the action from a backstage monitor.

FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) are then speaking from one of their homes in Asheville, North Carolina. Wheeler says everyone saw what happened to them and it was over nothing. Wheeler then says while they don’t agree with the methods of The Death Riders, they agree that AEW needs a change and some people need to be forced into it. Wheeler then says they stopped The Death Riders from pouring cleaner down Orange Cassidy’s throat. Wheeler then talks about how they were dragged out of the building and left for dead in the freezing cold. Harwood, who has his elbow wrapped, then says Doc Sampson wouldn’t clear them through the remainder of the year. Harwood then says they will be cleared for the Fight For The Fallen show and they won’t be coming alone.

MJF then makes his way down to the ring to address the AEW fans. MJF starts off by bringing up Hanukkah and says if the fans don’t celebrate the holiday, then he regrets to inform them that Santa Clause isn’t real and he doesn’t feel sorry for them. MJF then says Santa didn’t get them a lump of coal, rather their parents are too poor to get them a gift. MJF then speaks about starting a charity. Somber piano music then plays, while he speaks about a starving child sitting across from the fans. MJF then says picture that small child as this Bay Bay. A comical photo of Adam Cole’s head over a scrawny body then appears on the big screen. MJF then says if you buy the PPV, part of the fans’ money will go to his foundation to put this small yellow child out of his misery. MJF then closes out his promo. Adam Cole then appears on the big screen and says he had a meeting with Tony Khan. Cole then says he will make sure that MJF can’t use the Dynamite Diamond Ring before he earns it. Cole then says Matt Taven and Mike Bennett will be there to make sure that doesn’t happen. Taven and Bennett then joins Cole, who asks if he was kicking MJF’s ass yet. Cole then stands in the ring behind MJF. When MJF turns around, Cole punches him. MJF then tries to escape, but Cole hits him with a superkick. Cole then goes for a Panama Sunrise, but MJF escapes the ring before Cole can hit the move.

Video footage from AEW Collision of Julia Hart attacking Jamie Hayter from behind is then shown. Jamie Hayter then cuts a backstage promo and says Hart is a coward for attacking her from behind. Hayter then calls it a sneaky and classless move. Hayter then says she will drop Hart on her head at Fight For The Fallen.

Excalibur then says Kenny Omega will compete at the Wrestle Dynasty event on January 5 in Tokyo. Excalibur then says they hope to see him back in AEW very soon and we get a Kenny Omega video package.

Christian Cage, Nick Wayne, Mother Wayne and Kip Sabian then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night and HOOK and Katsuyori Shibata follows.

Tag Team Match: The Patriarchy (Nick Wayne and Christian Cage) vs. “The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil” HOOK and “The Wrestler” Katsuyori Shibata

The match starts off with Nick Wayne and HOOK. Both men go back and forth. Cage and Shibata then tag in and lock up with each other, but Cage hits a boot on Shibata’s midsection. Shibata then delivers some chops on Cage before HOOK and Nick tag back in. HOOK then low bridges Nick out of the ring, then hits a shoulder on Cage’s midsection and sends him crashing on top of Nick on the outside over the top rope. Cage then trips HOOK as he runs the ropes after HOOK and Nick return to the ring. HOOK then hits a suplex on Nick. Shibata then tags in and delivers some chops on Nick in the corner, then follows it up with a dropkick on him and a suplex. Shibata then cinches in an Arm Bar on Nick, but Nick escapes and Shibata hits a stomp on him on the spine. Shibata then trips Nick, then sends Cage crashing into the mat and HOOK hits a suplex on him on the floor. Shibata then cinches in a Sleeper on Nick, but Sabian hops up on the apron. HOOK then locks in the Redrum on Sabian, but Mother Wayne hops up on the apron. This then opens the door for Cage to hit the Killswitch on Shibata and place Nick on top of him to pin him for the win.

Excalibur then hypes Ospreay vs. Allin for later in the show and says the trios match will be the main event.

Excalibur then announces the following matches and segments for Saturday’s Christmas Collision: MJF and Adam Cole meet face-to-face, Darby Allin vs. Claudio Castagnoli in an AEW Continental Classic Gold League Match, Will Ospreay vs. Ricochet in an AEW Continental Classic Gold League Match, Mark Briscoe vs. The Beast Mortis in an AEW Continental Classic Blue League Match and Daniel Garcia vs. Shelton Benjamin in an AEW Continental Classic Blue League Match. Excalibur then says the show will start at 7CT/8ET coast-to-coast or after a college football playoff game.

We then get a video of Chris Jericho in New York with his ROH World Championship belt over his shoulder. Jericho narrates the video and gushes over New York before saying he has been anointed King of New York. Excalibur then hypes Jericho vs. Matt Cardona for the ROH World Championship on Friday’s Final Battle.

We then get a video package on Bandido.

We then head to the back, where AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May is shown standing and she asks if Thunder Rosa became a wrestler to make her family proud. May then says she has eclipsed everyone in AEW just by being herself. May then says Rosa can bring her father because she would like to end two generations in one night.

Tony Schiavone is standing in the ring and he introduces Ricochet, who makes his way down to the ring while Excalibur hypes Ricochet vs. Will Ospreay for Collision. Schiavone starts off by asking Ricochet about his change in demeanor the last time he was in the ring. Before Ricochet can say anything, The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley, MVP and Shelton Benjamin) make their way down to the ring, while Schiavone exits the ring. Ricochet says The Hurt Syndicate looks good. Ricochet then asks if they saw his recent matches and MVP says they did. Ricochet then says maybe Benjamin can have six points in the Continental Classic like he does if he wins his match later in the show. Ricochet then says Will Ospreay will see a different side of him on Saturday. MVP then asks to see the business card that he gave him. Lashley then grabs Ricochet by the throat. MVP then takes the card and tears it up, saying the offer is off the table because nobody likes a kiss ass. Lashley then releases Ricochet, who exits the ring and heads to the backstage area. Lashley and MVP then wishes Benjamin good luck in his Continental Classic Match and make their exit before The Beast Mortos makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night.

AEW Continental Classic Blue League Match: The Hurt Syndicate’s Shelton Benjamin vs. La Facción Ingobernable’s The Beast Mortos

The match starts off with Shelton Benjamin hitting a bodyslam on The Beast Mortos. Mortos then sends Benjamin crashing into the mat and follows it up by cinching in a Half Boston Crab on Benjamin. Benjamin then escapes and Mortos hits a chop on him, then sends Benjamin crashing out of the ring. Mortos then rolls up Benjamin, but Benjamin kicks out. Mortos then hits Benjamin with a powerslam and flies off the top to land on him. Benjamin then gets Mortos up on one shoulder and hits him with a powerslam, but Mortos nails Benjamin with a headbutt. Benjamin then responds with three German suplexes and a jumping knee in the corner, then follows it up with a slam for the win.

After the match, Lashley and MVP join Benjamin in the ring. Lashley and Benjamin then beat Mortos down, but Daniel Garcia makes his way out and challenges The Hurt Syndicate to a fight. Mark Briscoe’s music then hits and he joins Garcia. Garcia and Briscoe then start brawling with Benjamin and Lashley, but MVP hits Mark with his cane and Lashley nails Garcia. MVP then hands Benjamin the TNT Championship and he holds it up before dropping it on Garcia.

The updated leaderboards are then shown and we get a video package recapping this past weekend’s Continental Classic matches.

We then get an ad for All In: Texas tickets.

We then head to the back, where Renee Paquette is interviewing Ricochet. Ricochet says he didn’t know if business is finished with The Hurt Syndicate. Ricochet then says he isn’t going to worry about that. Ricochet then talks about facing Will Ospreay on Saturday. Ricochet then says he didn’t come to AEW just to be in the ring with Ospreay, he came to AEW to beat him. Ricochet then does the laugh he has been doing at the end of his promos. Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana are then waiting when Ricochet turns around. Swerve says Ricochet is still a follower. Ricochet then says Swerve didn’t win the Continental Classic last year so it will eat him up when he wins this year’s tournament. Ricochet then does his laugh again. Swerve then tells Nana that Ricochet is still bald and Nana laughs.

We then get highlights of Toni Storm making her return to AEW at the end of last week’s Dynamite. RJ City then interviews Toni Storm in what appeared to be a hotel. Storm acts like she has never met him before. City asks where she has been. Storm speaks about grinding it out on the independent scene. City then asks Storm about her history in AEW. Storm says she has watched every show since it started. City then asks Storm about being a three-time AEW Women’s Champion, which Storm has no memory of. City then asks about “Timeless” Toni Storm. City then says he had it wrong. Storm then says it’s Toni Time.

Will Ospreay and Darby Allin then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night.

AEW Continental Classic Gold League Match: “The Aerial Assassin” Will Ospreay vs. Darby Allin

The match starts off with both men locking up. Allin then rolls Ospreay up, but Ospreay kicks out and hits Allin with a chop. Allin then dropkicks Ospreay into the corner, then flies through the bottom rope to land on Ospreay on the outside and sends him back inside. Allin then climbs to the top and looks to hit a Coffin Drop on Ospreay on the ring apron, but Ospreay moves out of the way and Allin is sent crashing into the ring apron spine first. Ospreay then hits the Hidden Blade on Allin. Allin then responds with a Code Red and goes for a pin, but Ospreay kicks out. Allin then delivers some right hands on Ospreay, but Ospreay nails Allin with a couple of chops. Allin then hits a Crucifix Bomb on Ospreay, but Ospreay responds with a Styles Clash onto the floor off the ring apron. Allin then hits a Coffin Drop on Ospreay and pins him for the win.

The updated AEW Continental Classic Gold League leaderboard then shows that Allin, Ospreay, Ricochet and Claudio Castagnoli all have six points. It also shows that Brody King has three points and Komander has none and that all six men still have two matches remaining.

Darby Allin was still in the ring when The Death Riders make their way down to the ring for the main event of the night. We then get an ad for AEW Worlds End. Orange Cassidy, Hangman Page and Jay White then make their way down to the ring for the main event of the night.

Trios Match: The Death Riders (AEW World Champion Jon Moxley and AEW World Trios Champions Wheeler Yuta and “The Bastard” PAC) vs. The Conglomeration’s “Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy, “Hangman” Adam Page and Bang Bang Gang’s “Switchblade” Jay White

The match starts off with Orange Cassidy and Wheeler Yuta. Cassidy goes straight after Yuta. Cassidy nails Yuta, but Jon Moxley tags in and Cassidy hits him with the Beach Break. Yuta and Page then tag in and Page hits a Fallaway Slam on Yuta. Page then gets Yuta up on his shoulders, but Yuta escapes and Page nails him with a clothesline. Page then sends Yuta crashing into the corner and White tags in. Page then storms to the back as White sets up for Blade Runner. Moxley then avoids it and Castagnoli takes a cheap shot on Cassidy on the outside before Moxley hits a piledriver on White. Yuta then hits a knee drop on White’s neck. Yuta then delivers some stomps on White, but White sends Yuta out of the ring. White then looks to tag in Cassidy, but Cassidy is nowhere to be found. PAC then tags in and White hits a back body drop on him. PAC then hits White with a cutter over the top rope and from the apron, but White nails him with a double underhook suplex. PAC then hits a German suplex on White, but Moxley tags in and White nails him with a DDT. Cassidy then tags in and hits a Tornado DDT on Moxley off the top, then delivers some stomps on him and follows it up with a second Tornado DDT. Moxley then sets up for the Death Rider on Cassidy, but Cassidy escapes and sets up for Orange Punch. Moxley then avoids it, but Page reemerges at ringside and nails him from behind. Cassidy then hits the Stun-Dog Millionaire on Yuta and Page follows it up with the Buckshot Lariat. Page then begins arguing with White, opening the door for Moxley to roll Cassidy up for the win.

After the match, Page, Cassidy and White bicker until Moxley, PAC and Castagnoli surround them on the apron. A brawl then breaks out between both teams. Moxley then escapes with Shafir while Page, Cassidy and White get the better of the brawl. Excalibur then says there will be no escape for Moxley in the 4-Way Match at AEW Worlds End and the show comes to a close as Page, White and Cassidy continue brawling at ringside.
