Adam Copeland and Christian Cage have had one of the most storied partnerships in wrestling history, and fans have been wondering if the two could team up again in AEW. Speaking on Grilling JR, Jim Ross weighed in on the possibility, and he’s all for it.
“Yeah, there’s always a chance. I would be for it because I know their natural chemistry is amazing,” Ross said. “I’ve seen them at their best, and tags at this stage of their career, not a bad idea. If you want to put some spark and some sizzle in your tag team division, that ain’t a bad way to start.”
Copeland and Cage initially made their mark as a legendary tag team in WWE before their careers took different paths. They reunited under very different circumstances in AEW, with Copeland signing to the company in October 2023. Their reunion was short-lived, as their friendship quickly turned to rivalry, leading to a heated feud.
Since then, Cage has cemented himself as a dominant leader of The Patriarchy, while Copeland has been out of action due to a fractured tibia sustained at AEW Double or Nothing.
While Copeland’s timeline for a return remains uncertain, the idea of rekindling his partnership with Cage could shake things up in AEW’s tag team division. Whether they rekindle their chemistry as allies or continue to clash as rivals, the potential for something big is definitely there.
In the meantime, Cage will team up with Nick Wayne to face Katsuyori Shibata and HOOK at AEW Dynamite: Holiday Bash.
