The December 16 episode of Monday Night RAW was packed with drama right from the start, with one of the biggest moments being Kairi Sane getting attacked. While many fans assumed that Pure Fusion Collective was responsible, new clues suggest that might not actually be the case.
During the show, cameras cut to Pure Fusion Collective (Sonya Deville, Shayna Baszler, and Zoey Stark) standing over a production crate with a screaming Kairi Sane on the ground behind it. Pure Fusion Collective then ran away when IYO SKY and Dakota Kai showed up and checked on Sane and this made many believe it was Pure Fusion Collective.
However, WWE seemingly dropped clues that it was actually Dakota Kai who took out Kairi Sane. When the camera switched from New Day to Pure Fusion Collective, one could see Dakota standing nearby, but not close enough to Kairi to suggest she was involved in the attack.
In addition to that, during Raw Talk, a Wyatt Sicks glitch was briefly shown around Dakota Kai, essentially confirming that she had been marked for turning on her group. The line she said implied that Damage CTRL was tightly-knit, while Pure Fusion Collective wasn’t, which was obviously false, and they were pointing it out to the viewers.
“We don’t have an update on Kairi, but what we do know is PFC has crossed the line way too many times. They’re done and we’re done playing these games. They wanna walk around and own the place like they own the division? They will never hold up to what we have in Damage CTRL. So as soon as Kairi is good, we are putting PFC on the shelf for good.”
Dakota Kai will be facing off against Zoey Stark in the semifinals of the Women’s Intercontinental Title tournament and there is a chance Kai will end up facing IYO Sky in the finals, as Sky has also advanced after taking Kairi Sane’s spot during the December 23 episode of RAW. Therefore, we will have to wait and see when WWE will reveal Kai to be Kairi Sane’s attacker, as a heel turn seems to be brewing already.
Do you feel Dakota Kai is the one who attacked Kairi Sane, or is it a red herring? What’s your take on the possibility of a Damage CTRL betrayal? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comments section below.
