The Lowell Memorial Auditorium played host to NXT for their December 17 episode as fans saw more fallout after Deadline. That included a Tag Team Championship Match, and a lot of things were on the table.
Fraxiom were able to defend their NXT Tag Team Titles in that fatal four-way match at Deadline, despite Nathan Frazer pulling double duty with the Iron Survivor Challenge match as well. This week on NXT, they defended those titles against Gallus.
Wolfgang and Mark Coffey brought their all for this match. Axiom and Nathan Frazer were just getting past 100 days as champions. Also, Axiom had previously competed during the night in a match against Oba Femi.
Gallus had the upperhand as they went to commercials. The champions were looking very vulnerable against their much larger opponents. The finish of the match came after several near falls and some fast-paced action. Axiom was taken out at ringside, which left Frazer to fight off both members of Gallus on his own.
In the end, Fraxiom retained their titles after Fraxiom were able to come together in the end. They also went another week without breaking up. The team is an impressive unit, and although there are apparent cracks starting to form, they Nathan Frazer and Axiom haven’t ended their partnership yet.
We will have to see what is in store for the NXT Tag Team Titles when we get closer to New Year’s Evil. At this point, it looks like we know who will close out 2024 as NXT Tag Team Champions.
