Chris Featherstone took to Twitter to shed light on the situation, explaining that Triple H’s physical involvement was never about setting up an in-ring comeback. “I was informed that Triple H’s physical involvement following Kevin Owens’s post-match attack on Cody Rhodes at #SNME  is only to elevate Owens as a heel, and the Cody/Owens feud is slated to continue. A Triple H in-ring return is not in the plans at this time,” Featherstone wrote.

The chaos unfolded after Cody successfully defended his Undisputed WWE Championship against Owens. However, the celebration was short-lived as Owens blindsided Rhodes with a devastating package piledriver. Medical staff rushed to Cody’s aid, stretchered him out of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, and left fans stunned.

As Owens made his way backstage with the championship in hand, Triple H stormed out and snatched the title away from him. The two engaged in a heated face-off, complete with shoving, before referees stepped in to separate them.
