Wrestling legend Kevin Nash is breaking down the complications he faced during his recent surgery to repair a torn bicep. On his Kliq This podcast, Nash and co-host Sean Oliver shared details about the unexpectedly lengthy procedure and the additional damage doctors discovered once they got to work.
“They were finding stuff they wanted to work on while they were in there,” Oliver revealed, noting that the surgery stretched to three and a half hours—more than twice the originally scheduled time. Nash explained, “It was pretty intensive… I had some things, man.”
The 64-year-old WWE Hall of Famer didn’t hold back when describing the extent of the damage. “I had a full-thickness supraspinatus tear,” he said, referencing one of the rotator cuff muscles. “My deltoids are so big and so dominant that my rotator cuffs can be torn off the f**king bone, and the only thing that happens is I feel my humerus pop out of the joint… That’s what I was starting to get, a ton of grinding.”
Nash also revealed how his impressive arm mobility initially led doctors to believe the damage wasn’t severe. “They said, ‘How’s your arm mobility?’ and I could raise it, so they thought there was probably nothing in there,” Nash recounted. “Turns out, my delts were masking the real issue.”
In addition to repairing his torn bicep, doctors addressed other issues during the surgery, including removing cysts, fixing impingements, and smoothing out bone spurs on his clavicle. Despite the complications, Nash was able to get the surgery within two weeks of his injury—a fast turnaround he credits to staying proactive.
As Nash continues his recovery, fans are eager to see the icon back to his best, whether on the mic or making rare wrestling appearances.
