CM Punk has been on a roll since returning to WWE television last month, having already competed in a WarGames match. Fans have been curious about whether CM Punk will compete during WWE’s Holiday Tour, and it looks like the company is planning a big match for the Second City Saint.
Chris Featherstone, who has broken several stories lately, took to Twitter and reported that CM Punk will face GUNTHER in a steel cage match in Rosemont, Illinois, as part of WWE’s Holiday Tour. He further noted that it could be a tease for a future feud but fans will need to know where CM Punk goes after WWE debuts on Netflix next year.
“Nope, it’ll be against Punk in “Chicago” as a part of the Holiday Tour in a couple of weeks. Could it be a tease for an upcoming feud? Perhaps, but we’ll have to wait and see after the Netflix debut where Punk goes.”
Reports previously stated that CM Punk was set to challenge GUNTHER for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Survivor Series. However, that didn’t end up happening and this disappointed fans in a big way.
We’ll have to wait and see if CM Punk’s match against GUNTHER on December 29th at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, will lead to a full-fledged feud on television next year. After all, fans would certainly love to see that happen as soon as possible.
