Mina Shirakawa has been lighting up AEW television with her performances, earning a special place in fans’ hearts. However, questions about her status with the company have lingered.

During an interview with Sean Ross Sapp, Shirakawa finally set the record straight, confirming that she is not under contract with AEW.

Shirakawa revealed that her current commitments are with STARDOM, where she is signed. While she’s made an impact in AEW, Shirakawa emphasized her dedication to representing the incredible art of Japanese joshi pro wrestling to a broader audience.

“Oh, now I am contracted with STARDOM, of course, and I truly believe that Japanese joshi pro wrestling skills are incredible and fantastic,” Shirakawa explained. “So my mission is to show the Japanese wrestling skills to America. Yeah, I want to wrestle more in the United States, but right now, I’m contracted with STARDOM, so that’s all I can say.”

Shirakawa’s passion for bringing the magic of joshi wrestling to American fans was evident. While her STARDOM contract limits her opportunities stateside for now, her time in AEW has showcased her incredible talent and left fans wanting more.

Earlier this week, Shirakawa faced off against AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May on the December 11 episode of AEW Dynamite. Although she fell short of capturing the title, Shirakawa’s efforts earned her praise from fans and critics alike, reinforcing her value as a standout competitor.

As Shirakawa continues to bridge the gap between Japanese and American wrestling, fans remain hopeful that one day she’ll make AEW her permanent home. Until then, she’s fully committed to her mission of elevating joshi wrestling on a global stage.
