Get ready for a blast from the past because WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event is set to deliver tonight, December 14, 2024, from the historic Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York.

The show is pulling out all the stops with an mix of modern wrestling and nostalgic vibes. The commentary team alone is worth tuning in for—Michael Cole, Pat McAfee, Joe Tessitore, and WWE legend Jesse Ventura are taking the reins, and Ventura is bringing back his signature boas for the occasion.

Chris Featherstone dropped the scoop on Twitter, saying, “The full #SNME broadcast team will consist of Michael Cole, Pat McAfee, Joe Tessitore, and Jesse Ventura. Joe and Jesse will host (Jesse scheduled to call the Cody/Owens match), while Cole and McAfee will do the heavy lifting on commentary. Attire is going to be similar to old school episodes, with Jesse wearing the boas.”

Ventura won’t just be a one-night-only special—he’s confirmed to appear as part of the broadcast team for all four Saturday Night’s Main Event specials in 2025. If that doesn’t scream nostalgia, we don’t know what does.

As for the matches, tonight’s lineup promises non-stop action. Cody Rhodes will put his WWE Undisputed Championship on the line against Kevin Owens, while GUNTHER takes on Finn Balor and Damian Priest in a triple-threat match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Liv Morgan is defending her Women’s World Championship against IYO SKY, and the finals to crown the first-ever WWE United States Women’s Champion are set to go down. On top of all that, Sami Zayn and Drew McIntyre will collide in what could be a show-stealer, especially after McIntyre was brought back early to replace Bronson Reed, who’s sidelined with an injury.

The show isn’t just about the matches—plenty of legends will also be in the house. Names like Jimmy Hart, Tito Santana, Greg Valentine, and Koko B. Ware are confirmed. However, Ted DiBiase had to pull out of his appearance due to a minor medical procedure. Bill Apter shared, “Mr. DiBiase has had a minor medical procedure done. He’s feeling fine. He is looking forward to the holidays. He’s sorry that he cannot appear at Saturday Night’s Main Event but he is looking forward to probably being on one of the upcoming ones and sends his fans much love, and happy season’s greetings.”

The throwback theme continues with speculation that Hulk Hogan and Wendy Richter could also make surprise appearances to honor the history of Saturday Night’s Main Event. WrestleVotes Radio added fuel to the fire, saying WWE has been discussing the possibility of Hogan, who headlined the first SNME in 1985, making an appearance. Wendy Richter, whose groundbreaking win over The Fabulous Moolah at the inaugural event still stands as a defining moment in women’s wrestling, might also be joining the celebration.

Even with last-minute changes to the card, like Damian Priest being added to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match and Drew McIntyre stepping in to face Sami Zayn, WWE is proving once again that the show must go on. Tonight’s event will be broadcast live on NBC and Peacock in the U.S., with fans in Spain able to stream it for free on YouTube.
