Saturday Night’s Main Event returned for a show at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New Jersey. That is also the site of the first Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 10, 1985, so history was a part of the show. Naturally, fans expected to see history unfold at the event.

GUNTHER defended the World Heavyweight Championship in a triple-threat match against Finn Balor and Damian Priest during the show. This match had quite a build, as Balor got involved in GUNTHER and Priest’s title match at Survivor Series: WarGames.

This match went on third, right after Liv Morgan retained her WWE Women’s World Title against IYO Sky. Fans were ready for the triple threat match, the competitors fought through one commercial break, with everyone in the match getting a chance to steal the spotlight.

There were a ton of close calls, each with a different Superstar winning the match. They traded signature moves as Damian Priest and Finn Balor battled with GUNTHER on the outside of the ring, but the Ring General soon took control as “This Is Awesome” chants rang out from the crowd.
