Kevin Owens Reveals Why He Prefers Cutting Promos from His Car

Kevin Owens is known for speaking his mind, and he’s been doing just that in his ongoing feud with Cody Rhodes. A big part of his current storyline is that he delivers his promos from his car and Owens has now revealed the reason behind this unique approach.

While speaking to The Takedown on SI, Kevin Owens was asked for the reason behind him cutting promos in his car. Owens explained that he records his promos from his car because it’s simply easier. He mentioned the noise and chaos at home with his five dogs, six cats, and two kids, which makes it impossible to film there.

Owens also pointed out that while it started as a practical solution, the negative reactions he’s received from people about doing his promos in the car have made him decide to keep doing it, just to prove a point.

“I can’t do it from the house. I have five dogs. I have six cats. I have two kids. It’s not happening in there. There’s too much noise. So I do it from my car. And it’s very hard for some people to accept,” Owens spouted off upon the mere mention of his car. “It used to be a thing where I just did it because it was easier. Now I’ve seen so many people take offense to it, that now I’m never not doing it from a car just to spite them.”

Owens added that he doesn’t have a dedicated office filled with framed pictures or title belts, as he isn’t the type to create a personal shrine at home. He also mentioned that the only items in his house related to his career are there because of his wife, and he isn’t a fan of them. For him, his car has become the ideal space for filming, as it’s where he can find peace and focus without the distractions or personal décor that others might have.

“I don’t have a little office dedicated to my career with my little frames and title belts behind me. I’m not that kind of psycho. I have nothing in my house that has me in it. The only things that I have are there because of my wife and I don’t like it. I don’t want the frames and all that, but it’s fine. She’ll have that. I don’t have this little shrine to myself in my house that I can have in the background. So this is my car, you know what I mean? This is what I do.”

Kevin Owens has also been getting big props internally for his recent promo work, which goes to show just how effective they are now. For the time being, Kevin Owens is focused on his upcoming match against Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Long Island, NY, on December 14th. His main goal is to dismantle The American Nightmare once and for all, as he prepares for this highly anticipated match, so we’ll have to see how Owens will fare at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
