WWE has a rich history in many areas, and this extends beyond just their Superstars. The original WWE headquarters was iconic for several reasons and earlier this year, it was put up for sale. In fact, it appears that the headquarters has finally been sold for a lot of money.
CT Insider reports that WWE has found a buyer for its former Hamilton Avenue production studio in Stamford. The buyer is the Darien-based development firm V20 Group, which plans to convert the property into a high-end warehouse for distribution or other uses. V20 Group has several commercial, industrial, and residential properties in lower Fairfield County, including a new industrial park on West Avenue in Stamford.
The purchase price for the property, which includes the WWE buildings and two adjacent parcels, is listed at nearly $7.5 million. The WWE former production building on Hamilton Avenue spans 33,000 square feet on a three-acre lot, with additional four acres from neighboring properties at 128 and 102 Hamilton Ave.
V20 Group officials confirmed that the property is not being considered for residential development. The group is also working on the Heights Crossing apartments and retail complex in Darien, set to open next year near the Noroton Heights station of Metro-North.
WWE relocated to their new Global Headquarters in Stamford, CT, just a few miles from their old home and TKO even gave fans an inside look at the new headquarters recently. It’s the end of an era for WWE, as the original headquarters has been a big part of the company since 1985. This change marks a new chapter for WWE as they move forward, as change is the only constant in life.
