Jesse “The Body” Ventura is bringing the old-school vibes back to WWE in a big way. Appearing on The Bill Simmons Podcast, Ventura shared exciting details about the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event specials, revealing that the show will be a full-blown throwback to its glory days.

“The whole show is going to be a throwback,” Ventura said. “That means it’s going to look like it did before, the graphics, everything. The wrestlers are not coming down that ramp. They’re not coming with all the lights and spectacular.”

Ventura went on to explain that even the entrances will be pulled straight from the 1980s. “They’re coming in through the crowd like the old days. That’s why they brought me back,” he explained. “We’re going back in the time capsule. It’s going to be four times a year.”

The retro overhaul of Saturday Night’s Main Event, which kicks off December 14 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, is shaping up to be a nostalgic ride for fans who grew up on the iconic program. With Ventura at the commentary table, the classic aesthetic, and wrestlers making crowd entrances, it’s clear WWE is going all-in to recapture the magic of the original series.

Ventura’s return as a color commentator for the four-event series adds another layer of authenticity, as he famously lent his outspoken analysis to Saturday Night’s Main Event during its original run. For longtime fans, this throwback approach is a nod to an era that helped shape professional wrestling as we know it today.
