The December 10 edition of WWE NXT ended with a mystery unveiled that had the fans wondering at the end of last week’s show. Eddy Thorpe finally revealed the truth and admitted that he staged his attack himself, much to the shock of NXT GM Ava.

Following the conclusion of the main event, Eddy Thorpe was seen in Ava’s office, signing his contract for an NXT title match against Trick Williams, which is set to take place next week. The match was made official after a tense confrontation with Williams, which led Thorpe to call him not worthy of being the NXT Champion.

Just as Eddy Thorpe signed on the dotted line, Ava assured him that the NXT management was looking into the matter of who was the person to attack him backstage. With the title match official, Thorpe, with a smirk, said, “You are looking at him.”

Eddy Thorpe revealed his plan to stage the attack in order to get out of competing in the gruesome Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline and play mind games with Trick Williams and the entire locker room in order to get a championship opportunity without having to earn it, leaving Ava in utter shock.
