D-Von Dudley isn’t holding back when it comes to his thoughts on his sons’ AEW stint. Terrell and Terrence Hughes, known as TNT, had sporadic appearances in AEW and ROH, with their last match taking place in October 2023 on ROH On HonorClub. However, according to their legendary father, the experience left much to be desired.
In a interview with Women’s Wrestling Talk, D-Von made it clear he wasn’t happy with how his sons were utilized during their time with AEW. “They had a little stint in AEW and it didn’t really go well for them there. I didn’t like their little stint there either, I didn’t think they were being used correctly or used at all just like so many other talents in that company that’s not being used correctly,” he said.
Now, it seems the Dudley legacy is shifting gears, with NXT possibly on the horizon for TNT. D-Von dropped a major hint, saying, “I wanted them to get out, I wanted them to go to NXT and try to get their feet wet there. That’s what we’re doing right now with them. It’s one of those things where I was happy they were able to leave that part of their life and their wrestling career and go start a new chapter.”
The move to NXT would be a significant step for the brothers as they continue to carve out their own path in the wrestling world. In the meantime, TNT has been staying busy on the indie circuit, wrestling overseas and even facing The Good Hands at the WrestleCade SuperShow in November.
D-Von couldn’t hide his pride for his sons, adding, “They’re doing very, very well. They’re on the indies a lot, they’re going overseas, they’re doing so much, but I’m very proud of them. Every once in a while, they like to bring the old man along with them [laughs].”
Love him or hate him, D-Von Dudley isn’t afraid to speak his mind, and when it comes to his sons’ future, he’s ready to see them thrive. With the potential move to NXT on the horizon, it’s clear the Dudley legacy is far from over. Whether TNT makes waves in NXT or continues to dominate the indie scene, one thing’s for sure—the Dudleys always know how to keep fans talking.
