The pro wrestling world has been paying close attention to the Lucha Bros. Fenix and Pentagon’s contract with AEW have also played a huge role in that discussion. There is a lot to unpack when it comes to Fenix’s contractual status, as he has strongly hinted at injustice.

Fenix posted tweets seemingly directed at AEW without naming them. He claimed he was treated inhumanely and denied medical care. This drew a lot of discussion from within the pro wrestling world.

Sean Ross Sapp noted on Fightful Select that AEW declined to comment on recent claims made by Rey Fenix. Sapp noted that he contacted AEW both via message and in person during Monday’s ticketing event. AEW reportedly stated they would not comment, with an additional source indicating they could not address medical claims under any circumstances.

Sources within AEW were reportedly surprised by Fenix’s tweets, including how he felt silenced. While communication issues were acknowledged, no one the outlet spoke with described the treatment as inhumane. One source reportedly mentioned that Fenix had previously disagreed with a doctor who did not clear him to compete.

The report also noted that the Lucha Bros and PAC were set to win the AEW Trios Championships at All In. Creative plans changed following Fenix’s injury and rumors of WWE talks.

Fenix’s contract includes injury time, and it has been extended into 2025. On the other hand, Penta is now a free agent. We will have to see what happens, but WWE was interested in both of them.

Fenix may join Penta at his HOG Wrestling appearances. Pentagon is still in high demand after his AEW exit. We will have to see what happens next in this situation.
