Eric Bischoff is proving he’s one of the most flexible figures in wrestling today, showing up on WWE NXT and MLW One Shot within the same week. The two-time WWE Hall of Famer and legendary WCW executive clarified his contractual status during the latest episode of his 83 Weeks podcast, revealing that he’s currently not tied to any promotion—not even WWE.
“I don’t even have a legends agreement with WWE,” Bischoff admitted, addressing his recent appearances. “I did two WWE episodes. One on NXT and one for the WWE on the A&E Network. Then 48 hours later, I’m on an MLW show, who, by the way, was in a lawsuit with WWE.”
Bischoff made it clear he’s entirely independent, adding, “I don’t have a written agreement with anybody. I don’t even have a handshake deal with anybody.”
Bischoff explained that his free-agent status allows him to take on opportunities that fit his schedule and interest. “If TNA were to call me and say, ‘Hey, we’re doing something. We’d like you to show up,’ if it fit into my schedule and it sounded fun, I’ll do it,” he explained. His comments underscore his commitment to keeping his options open, making decisions based on what aligns with his priorities.
While MLW is reportedly open to working with Bischoff again in the future, it’s clear that “Easy E” isn’t ready to settle down with any single promotion. For Bischoff, it’s all about what makes sense for him both professionally and personally.
