Curtis Axel is known for maintaining good relationships in the wrestling world, but his beef with WCW legend Konnan stands out as an exception. Axel has now confirmed that their issues are far from resolved, as he still holds animosity toward Konnan following their spats in the past.
While speaking on Monte and The Pharaoh, Curtis Axel was asked about his relationship with Konnan, especially back in 2015 when Konnan claimed Axel lacked charisma. This led to Axel calling Konnan “washed-up” and adding that his father Mr. Perfect hated putting Konnan over.
Axel made it clear he still stands by his comments about Konnan. He recalled their past exchange, stating that Konnan called him boring and not entertaining. Axel confirmed that he still has heat with Konnan and doesn’t respect the WCW legend whatsoever, going as far as to call him a “piece of s***” and calling him a fat slob to boot.
“This dude said I was not entertaining. I don’t even know what he said. He just tweeted I was not entertaining, I was boring, whatever, not over, whatever. I tweeted him back saying, ‘Did you blow yourself up writing that tweet? Because I know you blew yourself up wrestling my dad. You’ve never been s***.’ So me and him got into it for a second, but that was years ago. But he’s a piece of s***, I don’t care about him.
He’s a fat slob, man. He never worked good matches. You ever see him in a heavyweight match? He talked s*** to me, so I sent him something with my Intercontinental Title in my hand like this, like ‘What’s up?!'”
On the other hand, Curtis Axel has a great relationship with CM Punk and even defended Punk’s attitude while claims about Punk having a negative reputation run rampant. Nevertheless, Axel and Konnan may never bury the hatchet and fans will have to accept that fact now.
