Trick Williams Beats Ridge Holland to Retain WWE NXT Title at Deadline 2024

The NXT Title was on the line at NXT Deadline event at the Minneapolis Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and it was quite a match. Trick Williams wanted to continue his reign as he whooped Ridge Holland, and this match had quite a lot riding on it.

Ridge Holland destroyed Chase U in the process of getting his title match against Trick Williams. Holland defeated Andre Chase during the November 19 episode of NXT with the stipulation that the Chase U stable would be disbanded if he failed to beat him. The whole match already had a #1 contendership for Trick Williams’ NXT Title on it, so that heightened things even more. Holland went on to troll the stable’s breakup in true heel fashion.

Trick Williams and Ridge Holland battled at Deadline after the NXT Tag Team Title match, which put their contest second to last of the night. Trick Williams was not 100% as he walked into the match, but he was medically cleared. The NXT Champion seemed more than ready for the match as he made his way to the ring.

During the match, Ridge Holland applied a lot of abuse to Trick Williams. He even ripped off the champion’s Kinesio Tape that he placed on his neck. Trick fought back to even things up, but Holland soon took control once again.

Later on, Trick Williams got his head caught in the ropes and that caused even more damage to his neck. In the end, Williams landed a Trick Shot to retain the title.

Since Oba Femi won the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge match, he has dibs on the next NXT Title match. We will have to see how things pan out for NXT as we close out 2024.
