Oba Femi’s First Remarks After Winning Iron Survivor Challenge at 2024 WWE NXT Deadline

WWE NXT Deadline 2024, emanating from the Minneapolis Armory, Minnesota, opened with the captivating Men’s Iron Survivor Match. The opener bout saw the returning Oba Femi clinch the win and earn himself a chance at the NXT Championship.

Following his remarkable victory against four of the top NXT talents, Oba Femi reflected on the win backstage in a video posted by WWE on Instagram. The former NXT North American Champion expressed excitement at finally clinching a huge opportunity that he had been waiting for a long time. He stated, “Now I ll be challenging for the NXT Championship, and boy I have been waiting for this opportunity. Whoever it is, whether it is Trick, whether its Ridge and god I hope it’s Trick, I am coming for you.”

Oba Femi made a surprise return at NXT Deadline after a brief hiatus since losing the NXT North American Championship to Tony D’Angelo. He replaced Eddy Thorpe, who was found attacked backstage at the end of the December 3rd edition of WWE NXT.

The final moments of The Iron Survivor came down to Je’Von Evans, Ethan Page and Oba Femi, all at two points. However, just before the bell hit the 25:00 mark, Femi scored the third point over Evans to win the Iron Survivor Challenge.

With a golden opportunity now in his grasp, it remains to be seen who Oba Femi will challenge for the NXT Championship. But one thing is for sure: the time for the ascension of Oba Femi does look to be on the horizon.
