The Minneapolis Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota played host to NXT’s Deadline premium live event. The five-match card included some big highlights, including the NXT Tag Team Title match.
The NXT Tag Team Championship was on the line as Axiom & Nathan Frazer defended against No Quarter Catch Crew’s Myles Borne and Tavion Heights. This was a high-paced matchup that they put on the card for a good reason.
This was also an interesting matchup, because Nathan Frazer was already booked for Deadline. Since he was in the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge match, the Seth Rollins trained Superstar pulled double duty. There was some tension brewing between the champions due to Frazer taking that Iron Survivor Challenge spot. Frazer didn’t win the Iron Survivor Challenge match, as Oba Femi returned to clinch that match, but he put on a good show despite the beating he got from Oba Femi.
Nathan Frazer was taped up, and his nose looked busted after Oba Femi was finished with him. Then it was time for his second match of the night. Mid-way through the match, OTM came down to ringside so they could talk some smack in person. They ended up having Nathan Frazer thrown on them thanks to Tavion Heights.
Although Frazer sold a lot during this match, he also fought back at times. He certainly didn’t make things easy for No Quarter Catch Crew. Axiom then took the tag, but Frazer was out at ringside after taking so much punishment.
In the end, Frazer took the tag, and although he did pull off a few impressive moves, he eventually fell behind to his fresher opponents. Eventually, miscommunication saw Axiom nail Frazer with a missile dropkick. Heights then destroyed Frazer on the ring apron and they hit a double team move on Axiom for a two count. In the end, Axiom pulled off a shocking surprise roll-up pin to win the match and retain the titles.
We will have to see what is in the future for Fraxiom, but they retained the titles at NXT Deadline 2024. Only time will tell how much longer the two have until they move onto their next chapter.
