WWE Superstars go through a lot of risk during matches, as they put their bodies on the line for fans’ enjoyment and entertainment. There is a lot of planning that goes into something like a WWE match, and that includes making sure that big spots are in order.

Bronson Reed took quite a fall at Survivor Series: WarGames in the main event match. He went smashing through a table, and he did so solo. It didn’t end well for Big Bronson Reed, and he will need some time off, which will require surgery. That kind of spot didn’t just come out of the blue.

During a Q&A on Fightful Select, Sean Ross Sapp as asked whether big spots like Bronson Reed’s are approved by Triple H beforehand. He explained that such spots are typically pitched and go through a producer before likely receiving final approval from Triple H.

WWE doesn’t stop there, because they want to make sure that they have the right shots when a big spot is planned. Production is also informed in advance to ensure the necessary camera shots and angles are ready for television.

CM Punk did call an audible during WarGames, but a big spot like Bronson Reed’s dive off the cage was planned out. This also shows in the production and coverage of the high risk move.

While other pro wrestling companies may let their talent improvise and take huge risks during matches, that isn’t the case in WWE. After all, they map out a lot of the action prior to matches, especially dangerous moves like leaping off the WarGames cage.

We’re hoping that Bronson Reed makes it back soon. His fall added a lot to the climax of the match, but it was also all a part of the plan. Of course, the fact that he was injured in the process wasn’t what they wanted at all.
