WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus is applauding the company’s decision to introduce mid-card championships for the women’s division, including the United States and Intercontinental titles. Speaking with TV Insider, the legendary superstar shared her excitement about the move and what it means for the future of women’s wrestling.

“I think it’s amazing. This is exactly what we wanted back in the day,” Stratus said. “We wanted the same opportunities and exposure as the men. Now this is a big step to have that level of competition. Having the titles means you’re going to have matches for those titles. There is room for multiple feuds over the titles and influx of characters. It creates opportunities for more characters on the show, who happen to be female.”

For Stratus, the introduction of these titles represents a significant evolution in the women’s division, creating fresh storylines, competitive matches, and more screen time for rising stars.

With women’s wrestling continuing to break barriers, Stratus’ endorsement of mid-card titles solidifies their importance in creating more opportunities for female talent.
