WWE fans should keep their eyes on the horizon as a new star is gearing up to make a big splash. Hikuleo, the towering former NJPW standout, has officially signed with WWE after completing his commitments in Japan.
The half-brother of Tama Tonga and adopted son of WWE legend Haku, Hikuleo’s move to WWE was widely anticipated following the expiration of his NJPW contract. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Hikuleo is “in the system” and currently training, with plans for him to debut on NXT. “He’s not injured. At some point, he’ll debut, most likely in NXT,” Dave Meltzer reported.
Unlike Tonga Loa, Tonga Toma, and Jacob Fatu, who were fast-tracked to the main roster, Hikuleo’s journey begins in WWE’s developmental brand, signaling WWE’s intention to let him hone his craft before a potential call-up.
Standing at an imposing 6’8”, Hikuleo brings size and a legacy that connects him to one of wrestling’s most storied families. Fans have speculated about whether his future could include a spot in The Bloodline faction, but for now, his focus appears to be making an impact in NXT.
Hikuleo’s signing adds even more star power to WWE’s growing roster and highlights the company’s continued investment in international talent. With his mix of size, pedigree, and NJPW experience, expectations are high for the Samoan powerhouse’s WWE journey.
