AEW’s Juice Robinson is out of action after a injury during what should have been a basic in-ring spot. The injury occurred during Robinson’s AEW Continental Classic Gold League match against Will Ospreay on the November 30 episode of AEW Collision. While Ospreay walked away victorious, the match took an unexpected turn, leaving Robinson sidelined with a broken fibula.
The injury happened during a seemingly innocuous sunset flip spot—a move that’s considered standard in professional wrestling. Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer broke down the moment, explaining just how the freak accident occurred.
“There was a sunset flip spot, a very basic spot. You would never know there was anything that went wrong with it,” Meltzer revealed. “The cameras didn’t show the angle, but I was sent a still picture of the injury, and it was very clearly there. His foot looked horrendous—bent in a horrible direction. It just happened. It was a fluke.”
The image of Robinson’s left leg bending unnaturally highlights just how unpredictable wrestling injuries can be. Despite the intense athleticism seen throughout the match, it was this routine move that caused the damage. Robinson was spotted on crutches during WrestleCade weekend, and AEW CEO Tony Khan confirmed the extent of the injury shortly after. Robinson will be replaced by Kommander in the tournament as he recovers.
This incident serves as a reminder of the risks wrestlers take, even during seemingly simple maneuvers. For now, AEW fans are left wishing Robinson a speedy recovery as he faces time away from the ring.
