The December 5 episode of TNA iMPACT! took an unexpected turn as AJ Francis secured a shot at the TNA World Championship by stepping up to the reigning champion, Nic Nemeth.

During the episode, Nemeth was reflecting on his stellar year as champion when Francis, accompanied by his First Class stablemate KC Navarro, interrupted the segment. Francis acknowledged Nemeth’s achievements but pointed out a glaring omission: Nemeth has yet to defend the championship against him. Declaring that he’s had “the best year of his career,” Francis made a strong case for his title opportunity.

Tensions rose quickly, with verbal jabs exchanged between the two competitors. The heated discussion reached its boiling point before being diffused by TNA Director of Authority, Santino Marella. Marella wasted no time making it official: Nic Nemeth will defend the TNA World Championship against AJ Francis at Final Resolution 2024.

The match now joins a stacked card for TNA’s final premium live event of the year, which is set to take place on December 13 at Center Stage in Atlanta, Georgia.
