Taz has given an update on his recovery journey following total knee replacement surgery.
The AEW announcer took to social media on December 4 to assure fans that his rehabilitation is going well, crediting his hard work in physical therapy for the rapid improvement in his knee.
“Just a quick update. It’s going really well!” Taz wrote. “I’ve been training really hard at PT & my knee is healing/getting strong rapidly!”
Taz stepped away from AEW earlier this year after his son, Hook, retired the FTW Championship during AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam. Shortly after, Taz announced his long-overdue knee surgery, which took place on October 8. Known for his dry wit, he jokingly lamented not being assigned to room 13 for the operation, a number he’s famously associated with.
Years of intense weight training—not wrestling injuries—contributed to the wear and tear on Taz’s body, leaving him needing replacements for both knees and shoulders. Before opting for surgery, he explored regenerative treatments and even pushed through significant pain to maintain his active lifestyle.
While Taz’s in-ring days are long behind him, fans are eager for his return to AEW in some capacity, possibly resuming his role as one of the most recognizable voices at the commentary table.
