WWE is bringing back one of its most dynamic personalities to the broadcast booth. During a Netflix & WWE Lunch and Learn presentation on Wednesday, Paul “Triple H” Levesque revealed that Pat McAfee will be returning to WWE “full-time” as part of the Monday Night RAW broadcast team.
“Letting the cat out of the bag a little bit right now,” Triple H said, “Pat’s actually about to come back with us here, full-time on Monday Night RAW.”
McAfee, a former NFL punter and current host of ESPN’s College GameDay, had previously taken a hiatus from WWE to focus on his duties with the college football show. Before stepping away, McAfee was a key figure on WWE’s SmackDown broadcast team, earning praise for his vibrant personality and passion for the sport.
Currently, RAW’s commentary team includes Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett. With McAfee’s return on the horizon, fans are speculating how WWE will shake up its broadcast teams to accommodate his comeback. While Triple H didn’t provide a specific date for McAfee’s return, WWE RAW’s debut on Netflix on January 6, 2025, could be a fitting stage for his highly anticipated reentry.
It’s worth noting that the NCAA football season, including its playoffs, concludes on January 20, 2025, suggesting McAfee’s return could align with his availability once the season wraps.
Pat McAfee’s unique energy and charisma have made him a fan favorite both in and out of the ring. His return promises to inject even more excitement into WWE’s flagship show as the company embarks on its Netflix era.
