AEW fans who attend Dynamite tapings know that Tony Khan has a soft spot for the 1994 sci-fi classic Timecop.

During the show’s transition from Dynamite to Rampage, Khan often references the movie, highlighting its theme of being “in two places at once. Now, the AEW President is teasing a possible “Timecop” crossover match.

Speaking on the Battleground podcast, Khan shared his enthusiasm for the idea: “I would love to do that. That’s definitely in our future. We’ve revitalized the popularity of a classic film. Timecop is not just a cult classic; it’s also the biggest commercial success of Jean-Claude Van Damme’s career. The only $100 million movie he ever did, and for good reason. It’s an excellent film, and it applies sometimes to the world of wrestling when most of the shows are live, but sometimes you tape them, and you’re in two places at once.”

AEW has a history of creating unique crossover matches, previously collaborating with Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Yakuza: Like a Dragon. A Timecop-themed match could follow suit, blending pop culture with the unpredictable world of professional wrestling.
