Rey Fenix is officially heading back to the wrestling scene, but it won’t be under the AEW banner.
The former AEW World Tag Team Champion has been announced for an appearance at House of Glory’s event on December 20 in Jamaica, Queens, NYC.
While Fenix hasn’t wrestled since July, this HOG event confirms he’s getting back into the mix. Though initially announced for a meet-and-greet session at Club Amazura, fans are already speculating about whether this could lead to a surprise match announcement in the near future. So far, there’s no confirmation that Fenix will lace up his boots, but his name alone has added intrigue to the event.
The night is shaping up to be a must-see for wrestling fans, featuring TNA Tag Team Champions Matt and Jeff Hardy, a Crown Jewel Championship bout between Zilla Fatu and Jake Something, and a clash between Matt Riddle and Phumi. The show streams live on TrillerTV and will run directly against ROH Final Battle 2024 at NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom, upping the stakes for HOG’s star-studded card.
Fenix’s move to work outside AEW comes amid swirling rumors about his future with the company. Although he hasn’t been officially announced for any AEW matches, Fenix remains a focal point of speculation, particularly with fans buzzing about a potential reunion with his brother, Penta El Zero Miedo, in WWE down the line.
