The announcement that Monday Night RAW is moving to Netflix remains one of the most highly discussed topics even now, especially since it will bring in a new era for WWE in 2025. With the transition, many fans speculated that WWE programming might become edgier and Nick Khan has now set the record straight on that matter.
While speaking to Sports Illustrated, Nick Khan was asked whether WWE programming will see a change in content, opting for something edgier following their Netflix move next year. Khan confirmed that WWE’s move to Netflix won’t bring a return to the edgier style of the Attitude.
Nick Khan noted that the company is committed to maintaining its family-friendly, multi-generational content to appeal to a broad audience. Nick Khan made it clear that there won’t be a change in the rating or a shift toward mature content, despite online speculation.
Instead, Nick Khan revealed that WWE plans to continue its advertiser-friendly programming while possibly incorporating a more global influence as the partnership with Netflix evolves.
“We’re not changing the rating of our programming,” WWE President Nick Khan confirmed. “There’s some online chatter about, oh, it’s gonna be R rated, or for us old folks, like X rated. That’s definitely not happening. So it’s family friendly, multi-generational, advertiser friendly programming. It’s gonna stay that way. I would look for more global flair, especially as the relationship [with Netflix] continues to develop.”
Triple H has acknowledged that WWE’s move to Netflix next year is still being planned, but the company is doing everything possible to ensure the transition is a big success. Although the content will not switch to a TV-14 rating, fans can expect WWE to deliver a fresh and unique level of programming.
