Monday Night RAW moving to Netflix next year is a big moment for both WWE and the wrestling industry. However, there were concerns about Netflix’s ability to handle weekly programming, especially after the streaming issues during the Jake Paul and Mike Tyson fight. That being said, Netflix’s COO has now confirmed that the platform is fully prepared for WWE’s transition and ready to handle the move smoothly.

While speaking to Deadline, Netflix’s COO Bela Bajaria confirmed that Netflix is fully prepared for WWE’s move to the platform next month, despite facing some buffering issues during the Mike Tyson and Jake Paul fight.

Bajaria acknowledged the importance of ensuring a smooth experience for every member during live events. While there were 65 million concurrent streams, which was a major success, Bajaria explained that the team learned from the issues and quickly worked to stabilize the streams for viewers. She made it clear that Netflix has learned from past experiences and is now ready for future events, including WWE.

“Whenever we do live events, we want it to go smoothly for every single one of our members. That’s really important—also, to put it in perspective, it was 65 million concurrent streams, right? It was a very successful night. A lot of people [watched], the scale was very big, which is great. There’s a lot of interest in it.

We expected a big number, for sure. It was a big number. But again, you don’t know, and you can’t learn these things until you do them so you take a big swing. Our teams and our engineers are amazing, moved super quickly, and stabilized it, and many of the members had it back up and running pretty quickly. But we learn from those things. And we’ve all obviously done a lot of stuff to learn and get ready for the NFL and Beyonce at halftime and so we’re totally ready and excited for WWE.”

Triple H also previously made it clear he wasn’t worried about WWE RAW facing streaming issues on Netflix. Confidence is certainly the key to success for WWE but only time will tell whether they will be able to avoid streaming issues once WWE moves to Netflix next year.

WWE President Nick Khan also confirmed that their content will remain family-friendly and not opt for something edgier following their move to Netflix. Nonetheless, fans are incredibly excited about what kind of changes WWE’s transition to Netflix will bring.
