New #1 Contenders for Tag Team Titles Crowned During 12/3 WWE NXT

December 3rd’s episode of WWE NXT continued to set the stage for Deadline. Nathan Frazer and Axiom are still NXT Tag Team Champions, but those two need a good team to defend their titles against.

NXT Tag Team Championship #1 Contenders Tag Team Battle Royal went down this week on NXT, with the winners getting a shot at the titles. This match received a ton of interest from the tag team division in WWE’s developmental brand for obvious reasons.

The Family and OTM made their entrances on television prior to a commercial break. When fans got back to the show, the match was just starting, with Hank and Tank making their way into the match. Things kicked off in a big way after that.

Bodies were flying all over the ring as competitors were eliminated all over the place. Both members of a team had to be taken out of the match for them to be out of contention, and they did a good job cleaning house early on. By the time we got back from the second commercial break of the match, things were nearing the end.

The final competitors in the match saw Gallus as the only full team remaining until Wolfgang and Coffee were both thrown out almost at the same time. Price, Tank, and Bourne were the only ones left in the match in the end. The finish came after No Quarter Catch Crew won as Tank and Lucian Price both fell out of the ring at the same time. Now they will face Nathan Frazer and Axiom for the Tag Team Tittles at Deadline on Saturday.

There have been teases of Axiom and Nathan Frazer’s split in recent memory. While Frazer got into the Iron Survivor Challenge match this year, Axiom did not. There has been apparent tension between the two, as they haven’t seemed to be on the same page for a while.
