Lilian Garcia returned to the WWE family in October, but before that, she kept busy with her Chasing Glory podcast where she interviewed various pro wrestlers. Garcia has now revealed that her podcast went on hiatus because of personal struggles, linking its pause to her crumbling marriage, among other things.

While speaking to Wrestling Life, Lilian Garcia explained what inspired her to start her Chasing Glory podcast. She always knew she wanted to create the show. When her dad was passing away, she talked to him about an idea she had in 2004.

Garcia wanted to interview the amazing superstars she worked with and share their real stories. She had heard about their struggles and how they overcame them and felt that if people knew these stories, they would not only benefit from them but become bigger fans too.

“I mean, I just knew I wanted to do this show. When my dad was passing away, I talked to him about an idea I had back in 2004. I told him, ‘I really want to interview these amazing superstars I get to share the locker room with and share their real stories.’ You know, backstage, I hear what they’ve been through and how they got through it. I always felt like if people knew those stories, not only would they benefit from hearing them, but they’d become even bigger fans.”

Lilian Garcia explained that putting her podcast on hold was one of the hardest decisions she ever made. In 2021, her mother passed away, and she had already gone through a lot—caring for her father until his death, then her mother until she passed. On top of that, her marriage was falling apart. She realized she couldn’t give her podcast the time and energy it needed because she was emotionally drained.

Lilian talked about the importance of knowing when to step back and take care of yourself. She admitted that if she had kept going, she likely would have had a nervous breakdown because it was all too overwhelming. As she prayed about it, she felt that God was telling her to put the podcast on hold, not because it was over, but because it was necessary for her well-being.

“Let me tell you, putting the show on hold was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. In 2021, my mother passed away. I had already been through so much—taking care of my dad until he passed, taking care of my mom until she passed, and dealing with a marriage that was falling apart. I realized I couldn’t give the show the time and energy it deserved because I was a shell of myself.

It’s important to know when it’s okay to step back and take care of yourself. If I had kept going, I think I would have had a nervous breakdown. It was just too much to handle. As I prayed about it, I felt like God was telling me, ‘I’m just asking you to put it on hold—it doesn’t mean you can never bring it back.’ So, I said, ‘Okay.’”

Lilian Garcia launched her Chasing Glory podcast in 2017 but put it on hiatus in 2021. Garcia has already mentioned that she’s interested in bringing it back in the future. Fans are eagerly waiting to see when she’ll resume the podcast, as it has certainly been missed.
