The AEW Continental Classic just got a major shake-up. Tony Khan announced on December 3 that Juice Robinson is out of the tournament due to injury. Rising lucha sensation Komander will take his place in the Gold League, adding a fresh dynamic to the high-stakes competition.
Khan broke the news on social media, sharing, “Due to injury, Juice Robinson cannot complete the #AEWContinentalClassic. Aiming to prove that he can hang with the world’s very best, high-flying rising star @KomandercrMX will join the field as Gold League first alternate, + the upcoming schedule will be adjusted accordingly.”
Robinson’s sole match in the tournament took place on the November 30 edition of AEW Collision, where he lost to Will Ospreay. Ringside News reported earlierthat Robinson was seen on crutches during WrestleCade weekend, further fueling concerns about his ability to continue.
As for Komander, fans are eager to see how the electrifying high-flyer will fare in the competition. Known for his gravity-defying moves, Komander is stepping into the spotlight with a golden opportunity to prove he belongs among AEW’s elite. While the updated schedule for the tournament hasn’t been revealed yet, excitement is already building for Komander’s debut.
This unexpected shake-up not only shifts the dynamics of the tournament but also raises questions about Robinson’s recovery and future in AEW. With Komander now in the mix, fans can expect the action to get even more unpredictable.
