Former TNA World Heavyweight Champion Josh Alexander is keeping fans on edge as he looks ahead to his free agency in February 2025. Appearing on Insight With Chris Van Vliet, Alexander opened up about his future in wrestling, hinting at a possible move to WWE while keeping all his options open.
When asked if he’s leaning toward a specific promotion, Alexander said, “I would say no, just because I’m looking at everywhere right now… Monday’s Raw, Tuesdays, NXT, Wednesdays, Dynamite. Like, Thursday’s Impact. Like, I’m watching everything with my kids all week long, which is awesome because I get to share this passion with them. But at the same time, I’m watching the product going, you know, looking at NXT, being like, man, you know, me and Ethan [Page] could tag up, and we could face that tag team. That’d be awesome.”
Alexander didn’t shy away from sharing dream matches he’d like to have if he ends up in WWE. “I’d really love to have a match with, like, Pete Dunne or GUNTHER,” he said, reflecting on WWE’s stacked roster. His remarks left fans speculating about whether the former TNA champ might follow in the footsteps of others who’ve made the jump to WWE in recent years.
While WWE seems to be a tempting option, Alexander acknowledged the allure of AEW, Japan, and other promotions. “You watch Dynamite, and I’m just like, man, I’ve torn it up with Will [Ospreay] and Takeshita in the past. Like, I would sure love to do that on a bigger stage,” he said. He also expressed a desire to wrestle Edge, who joined AEW as Adam Copeland, and to check off more names on his bucket list, including Shingo Takagi in Japan.
Alexander’s contract situation has created a buzz in the wrestling world, with fans eager to see where he’ll land. With his talent and ambition, the wrestling landscape could shift dramatically depending on his next move.
