Josh Alexander, the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion, is approaching his first taste of free agency in February 2025, but fans shouldn’t rule out a return to TNA. Despite exploring his options, Alexander made it clear during his appearance on Insight With Chris Van Vliet that TNA is still firmly in the conversation.
“I want to experience free agency for the first time in my career,” Alexander said, explaining his decision to test the waters. However, he expressed deep appreciation for TNA, where he’s spent six successful years. “TNA is not out of the conversation,” he emphasized. “Like I told them, I’m very grateful for everything we’ve been able to do over the six years, and we’ve continued to do this year since they picked up my extension.”
When discussing what factors into his decision, Alexander noted, “Probably just personal fulfillment and like that. A bunch of things go into that. Like, I love wrestling. I love the actual act of wrestling. You give me 20 minutes on TV or pay-per-view, I’ll go out there and do everything I can to make magic happen. So where do the opportunities come? That’s probably the most important part, right?”
While the opportunity to explore other promotions is appealing, Alexander acknowledged that financial stability and his family’s needs also play a role. “Obviously, money plays a factor. Like I said, two sons, a wife. I need to upgrade, you know, where we’re living because my kids are only getting bigger and more crazy.”
As February 15 draws closer, Alexander remains open-minded about his future. “There’s gonna be people that are interested in me, and we’re gonna have to figure out where it falls,” he shared, leaving fans to speculate whether he’ll remain with TNA or take his talents elsewhere.
