Maria Kanellis’ health issues are well-known and recently, she underwent a Retroperitoneoscopic Adrenalectomy treatment to remove a mass on her adrenal gland and had to be returned home following another hospital visit. Kanellis has now shared some good news regarding her health as she confirmed she is cancer-free.
Maria Kanellis took to Twitter and uploaded a video, confirming that she is cancer-free. In the update, she shared that it took some time for the pathology results to return, but she is relieved to announce that the tumor was not cancerous. Maria Kanellis expressed gratitude for being able to enter the holiday season without the worry of cancer.
Kanellis thanked everyone for their well wishes and prayers. The tumor was diagnosed as pheochromocytoma, a rare condition affecting only 3 to 8 people per million. This type of tumor affects mood, metabolism, blood pressure, and heart rate. Maria Kanellis is thankful that it was discovered early, as it could have caused serious health issues and she added that she is feeling hopeful and optimistic about the future.
“I wanted to give you guys an update, I know it’s been a little bit. It took a while for the pathology to get back but I wanted to let you guys know I’m cancer-free, the tumor was not cancerous. We are so grateful and thankful to be moving into this Holiday season cancer free and not have that worry. Thank you for all the well wishes and prayers. It did turn out to be a Pheochromocytoma, which is an incredibly rare tumor, only 3 to 8 people get it out of a million. Just a weird thing to happen, it affects your mood, your metabolism, your blood pressure, heart rate. So, we’re really blessed to have found it as early as it did because it can really start causing problems for your body. So, thank you so much and I’m looking forward and I’m really hopeful about the future.”
This is wonderful news for Maria Kanellis and her family, as she is now cancer-free and well on her way to recovery. We’ll have to wait and see when she’s ready to return to the world of professional wrestling and resume doing what she loves.
