WWE brought the aftermath of Survivor Series: WarGames to the Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett, Washington, for the December 2 episode of WWE RAW. The show featured intense matchups, including a big contest in the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship Tournament.
Dakota Kai, Katana Chance, and Shayna Baszler faced off in a triple-threat match with a lot on the line. Each competitor was looking to advance and secure their place in history as the tournament carried on to crown the first-ever WWE Women’s IC Champion.
This match started off with Katana Chance executing a high risk dive to the outside of the ring on her competitors before they cut to commercial. The three continued to battle in picture-in-picture as Baszler took control, and by the time we came back from commercial, Dakota Kai and Shayna Baszler were fighting alone in the ring.
In the end, the finish of this match came when Dakota Kai landed a scorpion kick on Baszler, but then Shayna blocked another kick to get on a Kirifuda Clutch. Chance landed a dive off the top, but then Kai landed her finisher on Katana Chance to secure the win and progress to the next round.
This was the first actual match of the night, and fans were ready to watch history being made. Triple H revealed the bracket for the tournament just before the show kicked off.
The new Women’s Intercontinental Championship was unveiled during a segment on the November 25 edition of WWE RAW. This matches the WWE Women’s United States Championship coming to SmackDown, and that tournament is already underway.
