TNA Wrestling’s Turning Point 2024 brought back its infamous Turkey Bowl match, but the comedic stakes turned serious when Alexander Hammerstone reportedly injured his knee during the bout.

According to PWInsider, Hammerstone banged up his knee while competing in the “Loser Wears a Turkey Suit” match at the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

The match, which included Joe Hendry, Eric Young, Rhino, Brian Myers, and John Skyler, demanded a lot from its competitors as they fought to avoid the embarrassment of donning the dreaded turkey costume. Hammerstone’s injury forced an unexpected shift mid-match, but Brian Myers and John Skyler were praised backstage for adapting on the fly and keeping the match on track.

Despite Hammerstone’s setback, the match went on to deliver its trademark mix of humor and intensity. In the end, Brian Myers took the pin from Joe Hendry and was reluctantly crowned this year’s turkey suit wearer. Fans at the event chanted “Turkey Myers” as Myers begrudgingly put on the costume, cementing his place in TNA’s quirky tradition.
