The WWE Network is officially winding down in the UK and Ireland, marking the end of an era for wrestling fans in the region. As WWE prepares to move its content to Netflix, including Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and all Premium Live Events, the wrestling giant has announced plans to shut down its streaming platform in these markets.
In an email sent to UK and Ireland subscribers, WWE confirmed that the WWE Network will cease operations on January 1, 2025. As a gesture of goodwill, subscribers will receive complimentary access to the Network for the entire month of December, allowing fans to enjoy content one last time before the platform’s closure.
The email outlined the transition, stating:
“On January 1, 2025, WWE Network will no longer be available in your area, and Netflix will be the new exclusive home of WWE. As a result, subscription to WWE Network has been disabled in the app store and will not renew on your next billing date… If you already have a Netflix subscription, you’re all set.”
This shift marks a major milestone for WWE, as it brings its iconic programming to Netflix for the first time ever, making it easier for fans to access both weekly shows and live events in one place. While some fans are excited about the expanded reach of WWE content, others are mourning the loss of the standalone Network that revolutionized how wrestling was streamed.
The WWE Network, once a groundbreaking platform for wrestling enthusiasts, has served as the go-to destination for archived matches, exclusive documentaries, and live shows. Its closure is sure to evoke nostalgia for fans who’ve relied on the service since its inception.
