At AEW’s Forbidden Door event, Stephanie Vaquer delivered an impressive performance that caught WWE’s attention, eventually leading to her signing with the company. Vaquer has now revealed the reason for joining WWE in the first place.
While speaking on 24 Horas TVN, Stephanie Vaquer revealed why she decided to sign with WWE, stating it had been her dream since she was a child. As she grew up, she realized her choices couldn’t be based only on childhood dreams. After achieving success in Mexico and Japan, she felt she had accomplished a lot but wanted to take the next step.
Money wasn’t the main reason for her choice, even though she got a very good offer from somewhere else, which was AEW. She felt that to become a complete wrestler, she needed to be in WWE, and she joined NXT because she believed it had the best women’s division.
“I’ll be very honest. Since I was a little girl, my dream was to sign with WWE. But when you’re older, you can’t be guided by the dreams you had when you were 9 years old. When I did what I did in Mexico, in Japan, I had already fulfilled a dream. I was missing this extra. It’s not all about money. I received another offer that was very juicy financially. To be a complete wrestler, I needed to be in WWE. I came to NXT because it was the best women’s division there is.”
It was also reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Stephanie Vaquer did not seriously consider joining AEW. Vaquer has already cemented her place in NXT’s women’s division and is set to compete at the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge match at NXT Deadline next month, so fans are excited to see if she will win the match and receive a shot at the NXT Women’s Championship once and for all.
