The Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia hosted WWE’s 2024 Survivor Series event. The five-match card included three title and two signature WarGames matches, and LA Knight wasn’t about to let his time in the spotlight be outdone.
The United States Title was the second contest on the card, after the Women’s WarGames match, where Rhea Ripley won the chaotic match for her team. Fans in the arena were more than ready to yell “YEAH” along with LA Knight’s entrance.
After a back-and-forth match, Shinsuke Nakamura nailed a move to LA Knight on the steel between the two WarGames rings. Then he landed a Kinsasha to claim the win and start his third reign as United States Champion.
LA Knight won the United States Championship at SummerSlam 2024 in Cleveland Browns Stadium. He toppled Logan Paul to end his impressive title reign, but the former Eli Drake was only getting started.
After LA Knight defended the United States Championship on the November 15 episode of SmackDown, Shinsuke Nakamura made his surprise return and attacked him. Nakamura attacked Knight again the next week after another title defense, and that was all it took to get this match going. A short time later, they revealed that the two would battle for the US Title at Survivor Series: WarGames.
The sinister force that Shinsuke Nakamura brought to the table upon his return was on full display for this match. LA Knight walked into this match with 119 days as US Champion, and he hadn’t lost a match since July.
