The anticipation for the debut episode of Monday Night RAW on Netflix in January 2025 is reaching a fever pitch, and WWE fans are wondering if The Rock will make another electrifying appearance. After his shocking return at the Bad Blood Premium Live Event, speculation about The Great One’s involvement in WWE’s groundbreaking Netflix launch continues to grow.
WWE is optimistic about securing The Rock for the January 6 premiere. Sean Ross Sapp noted on Fightful Select, “WWE is hopeful they can get The Rock,” hinting at the company’s efforts to pull out all the stops for what’s being touted as a history-making show.
Adding to the speculation, Dave Meltzer commented in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that The Rock’s presence would make perfect sense for the event, even if he hasn’t committed to wrestling at WrestleMania 41. “We’ve heard nothing confirming Johnson on the show,” Meltzer explained. “But those in the company we’ve talked with figure it makes sense… he’s the biggest audience difference maker for WWE and Netflix under any circumstances.”
Meltzer emphasized that if The Rock appears, it could set the stage for a blockbuster storyline involving Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, or both. “If he is doing Mania, he and Rhodes (and perhaps Reigns) should go hard with the angle on that show since it’ll be before the biggest audience of the year.”
WWE’s partnership with Netflix—a $5 billion, ten-year deal—is already generating massive buzz, and The Rock’s involvement would only add to the hype. With WWE poised to deliver its biggest TV episode of the year, fans are holding their breath to see if The Great One steps into the spotlight once again.
