Paul Heyman is no stranger to bold claims, and his latest statement cements his belief that WWE’s Bloodline storyline stands unmatched in wrestling history. Speaking with Shakiel Mahjouri in a new interview, Heyman ranked the saga as the top story ever told in the business, citing its longevity and unparalleled ability to draw money for WWE.

“Because of the longevity that this storyline has had, I have to rank it number one,” Heyman said. “The money-drawing years of the Horsemen weren’t this long. The money-drawing years of the nWo weren’t this long. The money-drawing years of Austin vs. McMahon weren’t this long. Hogan vs. Savage, Hogan vs. Piper—which put WrestleMania 1 on the map—none of these had this kind of staying power.”

Heyman, known for his encyclopedic knowledge of wrestling history, elaborated on why the Bloodline story has captured audiences like no other. “In terms of overall storytelling, the constant ebb and flow of affecting other people’s environment on the roster, how they tell their stories… I would suggest it’s the most significant, the biggest money-drawing, it has the most longevity, held the most interest, and has done so by being the most intriguing and compelling.”

One of the key factors Heyman highlighted was the evolution of characters like Roman Reigns, whose development is rooted in continuity and layered storytelling. “If something happens that changes Roman Reigns in 2022, we don’t disavow knowledge of it in 2024. It plays into what’s happening in 2024. Because we keep it consistent, I would have to rank it number one. All false humility aside.”

Heyman’s passion for the Bloodline saga echoes sentiments expressed by other WWE figures, including Triple H, who also credited the story’s depth and character-driven focus for its success. With Roman Reigns at the center of this historical run, the Bloodline continues to dominate wrestling and draw unparalleled interest.
