John Laurinaitis, former WWE executive and occasional on-screen talent, is once again in the spotlight—but not for flattering reasons. Wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell, known to fans as Zeb Colter, recently blasted Laurinaitis’ reputation during his Story Time with Dutch Mantell podcast, calling him a “snake” who thrived on stirring up trouble backstage.

“I knew about him before I even got there [in 2013]. His reputation preceded him, and I knew how he was before because I’d heard stories about him,” Mantell revealed. “With time, he was just a snake, basically. Don’t tell him nothing you don’t want anybody to know because he’ll tell everybody, plus add on to it a little bit, and to the negative.”

Laurinaitis worked for WWE from 2001 to 2022 as both an executive and an on-screen authority figure. While his corporate presence was notable, his behind-the-scenes behavior reportedly left a sour taste with many in the wrestling industry. Mantell’s comments align with other stories about Laurinaitis, who has faced accusations of spreading negativity and betraying trust among his colleagues.

The former WWE executive has also been embroiled in controversy outside the ring. Earlier this year, Laurinaitis was accused of sexual misconduct alongside Vince McMahon. On top of that, his personal life took a hit when his now-ex-wife, Kathy Colace—the mother of Brie and Nikki Bella—announced their divorce was finalized in October.

For many, Mantell’s remarks reinforce long-standing rumors about Laurinaitis’ divisive backstage persona. His reputation as a manipulator and gossip has become almost as infamous as his time as a WWE executive, leaving fans and insiders alike questioning the legacy he leaves behind.
